La Penitence businesswomen robbed by gunman
A popular grocery store located at La Penitence, Albouystown which is owned and operated by a 53-year-old woman and her two daughters, was invaded and robbed by a lone gunman on Sunday, January 21, 2018.
The family, who reside at the location, was robbed of over $400,000 in cash and other valuables including electronics, jewellery and phone cards.
News Room understands that the businesswomen had just locked up shop around 20:20hrs when the perpetrator entered premises, pointing a handgun at one of the daughters and demanded that she kneel in the yard behind the store.
He then forced his way into the house where he demanded that the women lay on the ground as he raided the wardrobes in search of valuables. The suspect then made his good escape; no shots were fired.
Police arrived on the scene shortly after and an investigation has been launched.
