A 16-year-old student is in police custody following the armed robbery of a Gold Miner just after midnight on Sunday, January 22, 2018, on Kitty Public Road, Georgetown.
A police report noted that the 30-year-old victim was standing on the Kitty Public Road in the vicinity of the seawall waiting for a taxi when he was attacked by four males, one of whom was armed with a firearm. They took away his two cellular phones.
According to the police report, the victim pursued the robbers and apprehended the youth who was unable to keep up with the pace of his accomplices because of an injured foot.
The 16-year-old suspect, who resides in Kitty, was found in possession of one of the victim’s phones.
