Brightening the doors of the Giftland Mall, Burger King has opened its second outlet in Guyana at the major shopping complex on Wednesday, January 24, 2018.

Scores of persons flocked the outlet to get a taste of the newest fast-food option available in the country.

The chain is operated through a franchise agreement with Corum Restaurant Holdings, a subsidiary of Corum Group which also manages the local Pizza Hut franchise.

Director of Marketing, Navin Singh said he hopes that the new location will attract new customers as well as ease the crowd at the first location which was opened last year at Regent and Camp Streets.

“We’re very happy to open our second location. The first branch it was phenomenal, it was above any of our expectations so we are very happy to open this location to take some pressure off the first location,” he told reporters during the official opening ceremony on Wednesday.

This is the second of six locations to be opened in Guyana.

“We’re looking to open another location this year. Just as people continue to support the brand, we will continue to open locations,” Singh stated.

Singh said approximately 120 jobs have been directly created while another 140 indirectly was opened up.

The Marketing Director said these investments represent the firm’s confidence in the economy. Burger King, which has been established since 1954, offers chicken nuggets, fries and sandwiches, fish burger and vegetarian options. There is also a variety of desserts including milkshakes and ice cream.
