Scores of sugar workers retrenched from the Enmore Sugar Estate have launched a protest ahead of a meeting with government ministers Friday morning.
The workers are demanding their severance pay. It is unclear at this time what the objective of the meeting is.
The protest is being led by officials of the opposition PPP.
There is a heavy Police presence outside the Staff Compound where the protest is taking place
