Security guard, female robbed on High Street

A 42-year-old security guard and a 27-year-old female were robbed of a number of items at about 20:30hrs on Thursday as they were engaged in a conversation outside of the Sea Island Hotel at High and Princess Streets, Georgetown.

According to information received, Godfrey Anthony and Kasika Benjamin, who both reside at the hotel, were conversing when three identifiable males, one of whom was armed with a handgun, approached them from a southern direction.

The armed perpetrator then drew the weapon from his waist and pointed it at them while the others relieved the victims of one Toshiba laptop computer value $ 80,000 and one BLU cellular phone valued $30,000.

The perpetrators then escaped on foot, South on High Street then East along Princess Street.

Investigations ongoing.
