10-Y-0 shot while playing with gun

Ten-year-old John Isaacs remains in a stable condition at the Monkey Mountain Health Centre, Region 8 (Potaro-Siparuni), after he was accidentally shot in his abdomen while playing with a 12 gauge shotgun.

News Room understands that Isaacs resides at Taruka Village, Monkey Mountain and attends the Monkey Mountain primary school.

Police sources told News Room that on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at around 16:00hrs, Isaacs and his 12-year-old friend were playing with the shotgun, which is own by a relative of the 12-year-old when the weapon went off.

The lad was immediately rushed to the health centre; the matter was reported to the police on Friday, February 2, 2018.
