A Regional Engineer of Side Line Dam, Triumph, East Coast Demerara, was on Saturday night, February 03, 2018, chopped several times on his left arm by a contractor.
Police said 67-year-old Amainauth Chinkan was attacked by the Enterprise Contractor at about 22:00hrs at Enterprise Village, E.C.D.
The police investigation revealed that the victim and suspect had a misunderstanding over the non-payment for works completed by the suspect.
As a result, it is alleged that the suspect became annoyed, armed himself with a cutlass dealt the victim several chops on his left arm and escaped.
The victim was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he underwent surgery and is has been admitted in a stable condition, while the suspect is being sought.
