A hat-trick from Sunil Narine and a rapid hundred from Evin Lewis handed Trinidad and Tobago Red Force a comfortable four-wicket win over Windward Islands Volcanoes in the Super50 on Monday.

Playing at the Kensington Oval in Barbados, Volcanoes were dismissed for 222 in 48.3 overs. Red Force then romped to victory, reaching 226-6 in 39.2 overs.

Volcanoes were 208-6 at the end of the 45th over and seemed well set for an onslaught in the last five overs. However, Narine struck with the second, third and fourth balls of the 46th over to halt their progress.

Narine finished with 4-25 and Imran Khan and Roshon Primus collected two each as Volcanoes managed what turned out to be an inadequate total.

Evin Lewis cracked a century to lead the victory charge

Devon Smith made 68, but no other batsman got past Kirk Edwards’ 32. Opener Lewis then cracked an even hundred from 93 balls, inclusive of 10 fours and three sixes.

Lewis and Tion Webster (24) added 79 for the first wicket, before Amir Jangoo (41) added 85 for the second wicket with Lewis. Despite a middle-order wobble, Red Force recovered well, with Jason Mohammed on 29 when victory was achieved.

    Larry Edwards picked up 4-38.
