4 in custody for murder of ‘Fabulous’


Police have so far arrested four persons in connection with the murder of 47-year-old Shawn Nurse known as ‘Fabulous’, who was gunned down in America Street, Georgetown on Sunday, February 4, 2018.

Police sources have confirmed that investigators reviewed surveillance footage which captured the murder and were able to seize a CG motorbike which is suspected to have been used by the perpetrator.

News Room understands that the owner of the motorbike was arrested and he told detectives that he loaned the bike to a friend, who is also one of the suspects in custody.

The men in custody are from Freeman Street, La Penitence, Durban Street Lodge, and Sandy Babb Street, Kitty Georgetown. Police said two of the suspects were previously charged with robbery committed on Nurse but were later freed after no evidence was offered and restitution made in the sum of $500,000 to Nurse.

According to a police statement, Nurse was sitting in a chair plying his trade when the armed perpetrator approached him from a northern direction with the weapon drawn and demanded that he hand over his money.

A resistance was put up and the perpetrator discharged a round hitting Nurse in his left cheek, resulting in his death.
