A Guyana Power and Light (GPL) employee is in a stable condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC) after he was stabbed in his right jaw by a 64-year-old pensioner of Sophia, who is said to be mentally unstable.
Police said that a female constable was stabbed on her left hand by the same woman when she tried to subdue her on Thursday, February 08, 2018 at around 11:20hrs. The cop was treated and sent away.
A police report noted that the GPL worker was a member of the disconnection crew that went to the Lot 128 Sophia resident’s home to disconnect her electricity.
