More car parts, crashed car found

Police on Sunday, 11 February 2018, recovered the front of two silver Allion motorcars, which was cut in half and completely stripped without their Chassis number in an empty lot at Swan, Soesdyke Linden Highway.

News Room was informed that the police also recovered a crashed Gold Spacio motorcar without its license plate and Chassis number in the same lot.

The vehicles have been lodged at the Brickdam police station. No one was arrested and investigations are in progress.

On Saturday, Police in ‘A’ Division made a significant dent in the car-jacking ring which has plagued Guyana since last year.

Police ranks acted on information received and went to a property located at Monument Hill, Kuru Kururu, Soesdyke/Linden Highway and conducted a search during which a number of vehicle parts and several vehicles suspected to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained were found.

A police statement noted that they have since been lodged at the Timehri Police Station.

Five persons, including an ex-policeman and four females, have been taken into custody and are assisting with the investigation.

Meanwhile, ranks of the Force’s Major Crimes Unit on Friday night also arrested a couple at their Vryheid’s Lust North, East Coast Demerara home after a quantity of Allion, Premio and Spacio parts with engraved numbers, was found on their premises. Investigations are in progress.
