Fourteen-year-old Danika King was last seen on Friday, February 09, 2018, when she left her mother’s Seaforth Street, Campbellville, Georgetown home for a bakery on Sheriff Street.

The teen, who is the daughter of former West Indies Fast Bowler, Reon King, did not return home. Her distraught mother, Shimika Williams, in an interview with the News Room on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, pleaded for her safe return.

Williams, who is the mother of seven daughters, said she is not of the view that the teenager was taken against her will but she is worried about her safety.

Williams said she last saw her daughter, a student of the Tutorial High School, at about 19:30hrs on Friday as she [Williams] left to visit some friends at the Marriott Hotel in Kingston, Georgetown.

She said she received a call from one of her daughters who informed her that the teen left to go to a bakery on Sheriff Street but did not return home.

“I can’t sleep, I can’t eat, I can’t focus. I’m just so worried, heartbroken, disturbed,” the distressed mother said as she tried to hold back tears.

She said a search was conducted on Sheriff Street but there is no trace of Danika.

“I came home, I waited and waited and waited, until now, she hasn’t returned home.”

The mother also made a report to the Kitty Police station and contacted friends of her daughter and other family members, but no one seems to have knowledge of her whereabouts.

She noted that she and her daughter would have trivial arguments but nothing serious that would make her want to leave home.

“From time to time as a parent, myself and her would disagree but before the end of the day or night, we would get back together. But of recent we had no problems to say that that can trigger her to leave so honestly right now, I don’t know what is the motive so I feel she is being encouraged by someone or some people.”

Williams does not believe her daughter was taken against her will as she noted that several of her belongings are missing from the home. She also discovered that the teen deleted photos of herself from her mother’s phone.

“All I am pleading at this time is that she returns safely and whoever she is with, please if you don’t want to go to the police, call my number 664-2135 and let me get someone to come for her or I can come for her,” the woman pleaded.

Danika King was last seen wearing a flowered dress. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact her mother or the nearest police station.
