A driver was killed on Friday evening after the motor lorry which he was driving turned turtle at 14 Miles Potora Road, Region Seven.
Information reaching News Room disclosed that the 30-year-old driver, Kevon Sauers of Kwakwani, Berbice River was driving motor lorry GSS 6366 attached with motor trailer TRR 5291 carrying timber, and while declining a hill, the vehicle developed a mechanical problem.
This caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle causing it to turn turtle and ended up on the left-hand side of the road where the driver was pinned, leaving him motionless.
News Room was told that a porter, Clifton Charles Rodriques was also travelling in the vehicle, however, he managed to escape unhurt.
A report was made to the police at 08:40 hrs on Saturday (February 17, 2018) and an investigation has been launched.
