Six persons, including a female, were taken into custody on Monday afternoon by Police ranks stationed at the Police Checkpoint at Itabali, Puruni Road, Mazaruni River, Region 7 after the lawmen found at a total of 662 grams of compressed cannabis.
A police statement noted that 557 grams were found in a music-box belonging to one of the suspects, while the remainder was found secreted inside the vehicle they occupants were in.
A case file has since been forwarded for legal advice.
