Fourteen-year-old Danika King, who disappeared shortly after leaving her Seaforth Street, Campbellville Georgetown home at about 19:30hrs on February 9, returned home on Tuesday morning, hours after a woman was taken into custody for her disappearance.

This was confirmed by the teen’s parents who spoke with the News Room on Wednesday.

News Room understands that a Police Constable was arrested in connection with the teen’s disappearance on February 15, 2018, however, it was on Monday that the rank’s mother was arrested when she went to visit him.

Reports indicate that the duo is being investigated for abduction while the constable is also being accused of rape.

The teen’s mother, Shimika Williams, in a recent interview with News Room, had noted that her daughter would usually communicate with the police rank via her cell phone, however, the mother noted that she is unaware of how close the relationship was.

When contacted on Wednesday, the teen’s father, former West Indies Fast Bowler, Reon King said his daughter returned home alone on Tuesday morning; she was questioned by the police and continues to receive counselling.

He told News Room that he is yet to learn where she spent the one week and a half.

On the day of her disappearance, Danika King left to go to a bakery on Sheriff Street but did not return home. A search of the area and contact with her friends and family all came up empty.
