The businessman who placed the controversial advertisement for persons to “go invest elsewhere” has issued an apology to President David Granger, the Government and people of Guyana.

The businessman, Siri Persaud, General Manager of GuyGas with a Bel Air, Georgetown address, penned the letter to the President expressing “deep regret,” Minister of State Joseph Harmon announced at his post-Cabinet news conference Thursday.

In the letter, Persaud said his intention was to bring attention to the unfair treatment and the frustration he experienced at the Guyana Office for Investment.

He said his intention was never to dissuade any investor from investing in Guyana.
