Breaking News: 2 houses gutted in Plaisance fire
Two houses were completely destroyed by fire this afternoon at the Plaisance Line Top, East Coast Demerara.
News Room’s reporter, Devina Samaroo, who is at the scene, reported that the fire is spreading to a third house.
One of the destroyed buildings is an apartment complex.
An occupant of one of the houses, Rowena Glasgow, told News Room that she was on her way to the Mashramani celebrations in Georgetown when she received a telephone call from her daughter that the house is on fire.
Residents have formed a bucket brigade and are assisting the Guyana Fire Service in putting out the blaze.
