Go-kart action is back, with March 3 earmarked as the season-opening event at GT Motorsports, Albert Street and Thomas Lands, Georgetown.

The first Georgetown Grand Prix of 2018 will speed off at 18:00h (6pm) with top Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago drivers set to battle for supremacy.

Trinidad and Tobago driving sensation Kristian Boodoosingh has been confirmed as one of the overseas competitors in the highly exciting Shifter Pro Cup.

While the Shifters are expected to wow the crowd, the excitement is not limited to just that category as the other divisions are sizing up to be very competitive.

The youngsters will bring the usual thrill in the Sun Burst Kids Cup 60cc, while the 125cc Junior and Senior should be a close battle between competitors as they were last year.

The Easy Cup Rookie, Light and Heavy will round off the evening’s action, which is free to the public. The VIP experience costs $6,000.

“So head down for the speed, skills and thrills plus enjoy treats at our concession area – only at GT Motorsports,” the organisers are urging.

The event is being sponsored by Stag Beer, Exxon Mobil, GMR&SC, Rayne Inn and Sun Burst Juices.
