Barama CEO, other workers attacked, robbed by gunmen

Two Indonesians, a security guard and a woman were on Saturday night attacked and robbed by several gunmen at the Barama Company Compound in Land of Canaan, East Bank Demerara (EBD).

Police reported that five bandits, four of whom were armed, pounced on the 54-year-old security guard who was manning the compound at around 23:45hrs.

The perpetrators relieved the guard of his shotgun, five cartridges and his cellphone before they bounded his hands and feet and duck-taped his mouth.

They then made their way to the living quarters within the compound where they pounced on the two male Indonesians and the female.

Police say the two Indonesians are the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Supervisor of the Company while the female is also another worker.

They were robbed of a quantity of cash, jewelry and cellphones.

Police have since launched an investigation.
