Ramdhani re-signed as Yonex brand ambassador

Guyana’s top badminton player Narayan Ramdhani has been re-signed with Team Yonex as a brand ambassador for the Yonex Corporation USA for 2018.

The signing means that Ramdhani will be exclusively using Yonex racquets, bags, shoes, apparel and accessories during the period stipulated in the contract.

“Yonex USA was very much pleased with his performance in 2017-2018 with Narayan medalling at every event played on the Canadian Circuit where he is based for the last year and a half,” Yonex USA said.

In 2018, Ramdhani has so far captured two gold medals, winning the Open Singles and Doubles in the VCR Jack Underhill competition.

In 2017, he copped gold at the VRC Remembrance Day Open, while he collected three bronze medals in the BC Senior Circuit 2- Shuttlesport Open, the BC Under-23 championship and the BC Senior Circuit 1- VRC Jack Underhill tournament.

Yonex Company Limited manufactures golf, tennis, and badminton equipment and offers racquets, shoes, clothing, bags, strings, stringing machines and putters.

The company also provides accessories, such as over grips, replacement grips, vibration stoppers, towels and bands, umbrellas, and travel covers. The products are distributed in Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania, and America. Yonex Company Limited was founded in 1946 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

Yonex has managed to become the dominant corporate player in badminton. Yonex sponsors the All England Open Badminton Championships and is a partner of the Badminton World Federation, which organises the World Championships.

Upwards of 80% of competitive players use their racquets, as it is the preferred choice amongst professionals. Yonex is significant in both the tennis and golf industry and is a major sponsor of professional athletes in all three sports. 

Meanwhile, Ramdhani is also stepping up his training for the Commonwealth Games, which will take place in Gold Coast, Australia, in April 2018.
