Porter robbed of $635,000 in cash by motorcycle bandits

A 29-year-old porter of Kitty, Georgetown, was robbed by three males and a female on Anira Street, Queenstown on Tuesday afternoon.

A police report noted that Travis Decaries was riding his bicycle along the street at about 12:50hrs when he was approached by the suspects who came from the opposite direction on motorcycles.

One of the suspects was armed with a gun while another was armed with a knife.

News Room understands that the victim was held at gunpoint while one of the unarmed men relieved him of $635,000 cash, one Ipad valued $24,000 and one Blu cellular phone valued $21,000. The items were in a bag around the man’s shoulder.

The suspects then mounted two motorcycles and made good their escape, south on Peter Rose Street, Queenstown. Investigations are ongoing.
