Former Guyana and West Indies captain Ramnaresh Sarwan is set for his second stint in the Hero Caribbean Premier League (Hero CPL), this time in the capacity of coach.

A usually reliable source confirmed to News Room on Thursday night that the 37-year-old has been handed the role of Assistant Coach of the Jamaica Tallawahs franchise for the 2018 tournament.

Sarwan’s first link to the tournament was as a player, when he led Guyana Amazon Warriors to the runner-up spot of the inaugural tournament in 2013.

The source said the Tallawahs, two-time winners of the Hero CPL, are delighted to have Sarwan part of the technical set-up, given his vast experience of playing top flight cricket across the globe.

The right-handed middle-order batsman played 87 Tests, 181 ODIs and 18 T20s for the West Indies in a career spanning 13 years. He amassed over 11,000 international runs with 20 centuries and 71 fifties.

JAMAICA TALLAWAHS: Andre Russell, Shahid Afridi, Imad Wasim, David Miller, Ross Taylor, Rovman Powell, Samuel Badree, Kemar Roach, Glenn Phillips, Andre McCarthy, Krishmar Santokie, Johnson Charles, Steven Taylor, Kennar Lewis, Steven Jacobs, Oshane Thomas, Elmore Hutchinson and Kristian Kallicharran.
