Uitvlugt, Bishops’ look sharp in Milo School Football

Despite Chase Academy’s winning streak, Uitvlugt Secondary and Bishops’ High School looked the pick of the teams over the weekend of Milo school football action at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Uitvlugt Secondary ended their weekend on a high note with an 11-2 drubbing of Cummings Lodge when the sixth edition of the tournament continued.

It was one-way-traffic on Sunday with Uitvlugt running away with an easy win. Ruben Danty scored a hat-trick in the 10th, 23rd and 50th minutes to lead the way, while Jonathan Lietch in the 19th and 20th had a double in the match.

Scion Prince also had a double in the 21st and 26th minutes, while the remainder of goals were solo efforts by four other players. 

Meanwhile on Saturday, Bishops’ High School dropped the hammer on School of the Nations with a 9-0 victory. Jeremiah Joseph was crucial to the attacking front line and registered a hat-trick in the 36th, 57th and 66th minutes, while Lamar Williams had a double in the 40th and 49th minutes. 

Defending champions Chase Academy cruised to a 4-0 win against Annandale Secondary on Saturday. Jeremy Garrett opened the scoring in the 16th minute, while Rashawn Rich (37th), Randel Peters (55th) and Nicholas McArthur (66th) were the other scorers. 

Sir Leon Lessons also looked good on Saturday with a 5-0 win against St. Roses High, while Christianburg Secondary topped Annandale 2-0 on Sunday. The weekend’s final match saw Sir Morgan Lessons defeating Pure Masters 1-0. 

The tournament will continue on Wednesday (March 7) at the Ministry of Education ground from 16:00h.
