Female Cop among two killed in motorcycle crash
The driver of a motorcycle (CBR) and the pillion rider were killed on Saturday night when the motorcycle collided with a concrete median at Houston, East Bank Demerara.
Police reported that 24-year-old Stanley Junior King of 116 Section ‘M’ Campbellville, Greater Georgetown, was proceeding on motorcycle # CG 2195, allegedly at a fast rate with 25-year-old pillion rider Mauava Chase when he reportedly lost control while negotiating a slight turn.
The motorcycle slammed into the median rendering King unsconcious and injuring Chase.
Police said Chase of 187 Thomas Street, Kitty, was a Police Constable stationed at the Central Passport and Immigration Office.
Police said ranks responded promptly to the scene and rushed the duo to the Georgetown Public Hospital where King was pronounced dead on arrival and Chase succumbed while receiving medical attention.
