Students injured in ‘David G’ boat accident
President David Granger, has instructed that an investigation is launched into the accident involving a ‘David G’ boat in the vicinity of River’s View, Cuyuni-Mazaruni (Region Seven) as he visited the three injured students and boat captain at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) Wednesday evening.
Injured in the boat accident are 14-year-old are Lola Thornhill, Cleveloyd Edmonds, 15; Sheniele Maschette, 16 – all of the Bartica Secondary School and 21-year-old boat captain, Akiem Williams.
The injured were air-dashed to the city last night after the accident.
Following a visit to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the GPHC, where they are currently undergoing medical treatment, President Granger said that a full investigation will be conducted.
“Additionally, he has committed to providing the necessary assistance to aid the recovery process of the injured persons,” a Ministry of the Presidency release noted.
