    After 34 goals on the first night of Super 16 action in the Corona Futsal tournament, another 37 were scored on the second night of knockout games at the weekend at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.

    Tiger Bay got the most commanding win of the night, an 8-1 drubbing of Xtreme Campbellville in the opening game. Deon Alfred was a beast on the floor, netting four goals in the eighth, 11th, 12th and 18th minutes.

    Four other players got on the scoresheet for Tiger Bay- Orin Moore (13th), Jermaine (16th), Kerwin Heywood (16th) and James Meredith (18th). Xtreme Campbellville’s solitary goal came off the boot of Carl Griffith, who scored the first goal of the match in the sixth minute.

    In game two, West Front Road prevailed 8-2 over Alexander Village, with Jamal Pedro scoring a hat-trick in the eighth, 14th and 20th minutes.

    Randolph Wagner opened the scoring with a double in the second and fifth minutes, while Michael Pedro (10th), Hubert Pedro (12th) and Colin Nelson (20th) added a goal apiece. Shem Porter (16th) and Leon Yaw (17th) accounted for Alexander Village’s two goals.

    Match three produced the most goals of the night, 12, with Leopold Street overcoming Show Stoppers 8-4. Eon Alleyne was the star of the night, netting five goals for Leopold Street.

    Alleyne scored in the first minute to signal his intentions, then netted again in the sixth, 12th, 13th and 18th minutes. Omalo Williams added a double in the 14th and 19 minutes, while Daren Benjamin scored in the second minute of play.

    Dexroy Adams (third and fifth) and Trayon Bobb (eighth and 11th) scored a double apiece for Show Stoppers.

    In the final match of the night, Sparta Boss toppled Albouystown 5-1 to advance to the quarter-finals.  

    Sparta Boss got goals from Courtney Britton (sixth), Keyon Richards (ninth), Gregory Richardson (12th), Quincy Adams (13th) and Sheldon Shepherd (18th), while Moses Gittens scored for Albouystown three minutes after the opening whistle. 

    Meanwhile, quarter-final action will be contested on March 24 at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue. Two exhibition games will be played from 19:30h, followed by the opening quarter-final match an hour later between Tiger Bay and Bent Street. 

    West Front Road will play Leopold Street from 21:45h; Alpha Warriors will trade skills with California Square from 22:30h; and Future Stars and Sparta Boss will close off the night with a clash from 23:15h.
