During a simple ceremony at State House, Kurmaz reaffirmed his country’s commitment to Guyana and said is he looking forward to deepening the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

President Granger, in his remarks, said he too is looking forward to increased cooperation between the two nations, especially in areas of climate change.

He also invited Russia to invest in the local economy.

Guyana and Russia established diplomatic relations in December 1917.

Among the notable strides made in the bilateral relations is the visa waiver.
