The 2018 Carifta team is prepped and ready for the junior Carifta Games set to get underway on Saturday, March 31 in The Bahamas.
Coach Niall Stanton told News Room Sport that the 18-member squad is “hyped” up ahead of the games.
The Coach noted that Minister of Social Cohesion with responsibility for Sport, Dr. George Norton and President of the Athletics Association of Guyana, Aubrey Hutson paid a courtesy call on the athletes to wish them well.
News Room Sport understands that Dr. Norton will also be part of the technical team that will bid for the 2020 Carifta Games to be hosted in Guyana.
Coach Stanton noted that the training sessions have been good and all athletes have indicated their readiness to show their ability on the track. The event will commence at 09:00hrs. (Treiston Joseph)
