Six-team 10/10 set for Sunday at Cotton Tree
Six top teams in Berbice will on Sunday (April 1) converge at the Cotton Tree ground, West Coast Berbice, to challenge for cash and prizes in a 10/10 cricket competition, starting at 09:00h.
The cricket competition forms part of the Cotton Tree Die Hard Cricket Club’s annual Fun Day and Bar-b-Que. Proceeds from the event will go towards cricket development at the club.
The host club Cotton Tree Die Hard will face off with five other clubs, vying for over $100,000 in cash and prizes. In game one, D’Edward will take on Fairfield Sports Club, followed by Rickey Moore Sports Club against Shieldstown in the match two.
In the third game, Cotton Tree Die Hard will trade skills with Hampshire Sports Club. One of the coordinators of the one day activity, Roshan Gaffoor, said apart from the exciting on-field rivalry among the six teams, spectators will experience lots of family-oriented activities beyond the boundary.
He is encouraging cricket lovers in West Berbice and beyond to come out and be part of a great event. Apart from a well-stocked bar, Gaffoor informed that there will giveaways for the younger ones, including ice-cream and kites.
