Police are investigating the alleged murder of a 27-year-old man of Dowding Street, Kitty, Georgetown which occurred during an alleged robbery on Friday night.
According to information received, Taj Andrew Jarvis, a labourer, was walking along Alexander Street at about 20:00hrs with a friend, when a man pounced on him and demanded money.
News Room understands that an argument ensued and the suspect, who has been identified as a 39-year-old of Shell Road, Kitty, stabbed Jarvis to the left side chest and chin.
Reports indicate that Jarvis fell to the ground and the suspect dealt him several kicks about the body before walking away.
The young man was picked up by an ambulance and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police are on the hunt for the suspect.
