7-Y-O killed by drunk driver

An Essequibo businessman is in police custody for causing the death of a seven-year-old boy of Aurora, Essequibo Coast.

Police said about 08:45hrs this morning, the 42-year-old businessman was driving motor car  PNN 9465 on the Aurora Public Road when it is alleged that seven-year-old Jadesh Mohanlall ran out from a yard and into the path of the motor car.

He was picked up and taken to the Suddie Public Hospital by the driver but subsequently succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical treatment.

The driver of Hibernia, Essequibo, was tested and found to be above the legal limit of alcohol consumption.
