3 arrested for threatening life of Granger
A 65-year-old man from East Coast Demerara (ECD) and two other persons have been arrested for threatening the life of President David Granger, police say.
According to a statement Friday night, threatening phone calls were made against the Guyanese Head of State and they were recorded on the 911 system at the Brickdam Police Station on March 20, 2018.
The three men are in custody as the investigation continues, police say.
In 2016, Bibi Safora Salim, of Vergenoegen, East Bank Essequibo, was charged over social media threats she reportedly made against President Granger.
