The two best futsal teams, Bent Street and Sparta Boss, have once again set up their second consecutive futsal final after their drama-filled semi-final round on Saturday at the National Gymnasium.

Bent Street was once again in an enticing match, this time against Leopold Street. The game, arguably one of the better of the tournament, ended 6-5.

Bent Street came out firing and quickly went 3-0 up with goals from Ryan Hackett, Kelsey Benjamin and Pernell Schultz in the seventh, eighth and 10th minutes respectively as the game seemed all but over at the halftime break.

However, Omari Williams and Eon Alleyne teamed up to bring the game on level pecking with Williams scoring a double in the 14th and 19th minutes, while Alleyne’s goal came in the 18th minute to end regulation time with the scores tied 3-3.

Extra time started hot with Job Caesar putting Bent Street ahead in the 23rd, while Alleyne responded in a minute later to equalise with his second goal of the night.

However, Caesar in the 25th struck while, Andrew Murray Jr made it 6-4  in the 28th minute.  Williams got his hat-trick of the night in the 29th minute as time expired.

Meanwhile, Sparta Boss had to hold off Alpha Warriors with a 5-4 win to move to the final. Sparta, much like Bent Street, had a hot start with two quick goals from Jermain Junor and Gregory ‘Jackie Chan’ Richardson in the first and eighth minutes respectively.

Alpha did not take long to respond and scored two quick goals through Sheldon Holder and Daniel Favorite, with both goals coming in the ninth minute to put the game on even standing at 2-2.

Sparta wasted little time in responding and new comer to the team, Jeremy Garrett continued his goal-scoring form with a goal in the 10th minute.

However, Vurlon Mills equalised for Alpha in the 14th minute, while Garrett put Sparta ahead for the third time in the game with a goal in the 18th minute. With time winding down and Sparta starting to relax a bit, Alpha Warriors equalised with a magnificent goal from Favorite in the 23rd minute.

Garrett would score in the winner in the 28th minute of the match to send Sparta through to final to face Bent Street. The final will be played on April 14 at the National Gymnasium.
