The body of a man was on Monday morning fished out of the canal on Carifesta Avenue, Georgetown behind the Guyana Defence Force Base Camp Ayanganna.
The Guyana Police Force, up to press time, was unable to identify the man.
News Room was reliably informed that the man had marks of violence about his head but police are unsure whether it was as a result of a road accident.
The middle-aged man was draped in just black trousers; he was shirtless and barefoot.
