Police are on the hunt for 23-year-old Derrick Oudkerk, a convicted prisoner, who escaped while cutting “bushes” at the home of a Prison Officer at Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara on Sunday.
Director of Prisons (ag) Gladwin Samuels said that Oudkerk was cutting the bushes with two other prisoners and was discovered missing just after 16:30hrs. He was serving his time at the Lusignan Prison.
The young man of Upper Watooka Linden was charged and convicted of larceny for which he was sentenced to serve 18 months jail.
