Uprising emerged the new champions of the East Coast leg of the Guinness Greatest of the Streets small goal football following a brilliant win against Paradise A on Saturday evening at the Haslington Tarmac.

Uprising defeated Paradise A 3-0 to cart off the top prize of $400,000 after winning the final. It was a high-paced game with both teams playing an attacking style of street football.

Nevertheless, Uprising struck early with a goal from Quincy Semple in the sixth minute to give his side the immediate advantage. Paradise A kept searching for the equaliser and came within metres of troubling the net on a couple of occasions, but somehow misfired shots at goal.

Their constant inability to score often got them in a bit of defensive tangle, none more heart-rending than when Les Charles Critchlow scored a Guinness goal in the 18th minute to seal the win as the Guinness goal for two since it was scored in the final three minutes.

The second place finish for Paradise A earned them $150,000.

Melanie B won the third place match 1-0 against Buxton Diamond in the physically bruising affair.

Both teams did not give an inch for the entirety of the match, despite the early and what turned out to be the only goal by Odell Gulliver in the seventh minute.

While both teams tried for more goals, the toughness of the game proved too much for both sides to really get shots on target. Melanie B won the prize of $100,000, while Buxton Diamond won $75,000.

In the Plate final, Belfield Warriors won 3-0 against Mahaica with Keyron Johnson scoring in the fifth and Akeem Holder a Guinness goal in the 20th.

The competition will now head to Linden for the Town Week festivities.
