COMMONWEALTH GAMES: Doris leaps into Men’s Triple Jump final

USA-based Guyanese athlete Troy Doris is through to the final of the Men’s Triple Jump at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. 

Competing in Group A of the Qualifying Round on Thursday, 2016 Olympic finalist Doris recorded 16.33 metres, the second best jump in the group behind Dominica’s Yordanys Duranona Garcia’s 16.75m. 

Doris had the fifth best jump in the Qualifying Round, behind the Group B trio Arpinder Singh of India (16.39m), Roger Haitengi of Namibia (16.36m) and Muhammad Hakimi Ismail of Malaysia (16.36m).

Doris and 11 others will compete in the final, set for Saturday at the Carrara Stadium, Horiz. Jump A.
