Charity market flooded
The Region Two Democratic council is urging vendors at the Charity Market to desist from littering as this practice clog drains and leads to prolonged flooding.
Rainfall in the region on Saturday morning led to the market and surrounding areas becoming further inundated.
“The water is slowly receding with the tide, but threats of more rain will result in continuous flooding,” the Regional Democratic Council said on its facebook page.
A visit to the affected areas was conducted by the Region’s engineering team which is trying bring relief to those affected.
On Friday morning, Charity was among the communities affected by heavy rainfall and severe winds which led to roofs being ripped off and several yards becoming flooded.
