30,000 marijuana plants destroyed, one arrested
Plants destroyed during the Drug Eradication exercise
A 25-year-old resident of Angoys Avenue, New Amsterdam was arrested on Thursday in connection with 30,000 marijuana plants found at Ebuni, Upper Berbice River.
According to the police, Law Enforcement Officers visited the area where they destroyed by fire one and half acres of cultivated cannabis sativa plants ranging from one to six feet in height and quantity of seeds.
One Honda water pump and one spray can was found at the camp site.
