BREAKING NEWS: Mahaica man stabs wife to death

A woman who has been identified as Deomattie Persaud of Belmonte, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara was moments ago stabbed to death by her husband, Dahanraj Maharaj.

News Room was told that the man subsequently drank poison and was taken to the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital by ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) who visited the scene.

The woman’s body remains on the street where the incident occurred while police have cordoned off the area to conduct their investigations.
