Two armed men pounced on a popular Lottery Shop located at Lot 25 Main and Charles Place in New Amsterdam, Berbice on Saturday night.
News Room understands that at approximately 19:30hrs, the owner, 20-year-old Naresha Khan and her husband, Fazal Khan, 22, had just secured their Lottery Outlet at the NB Sukra Building and were standing outside when two men entered the yard.
The men held the female at gunpoint and began beating her to the head with a gun, while her husband was beaten to the face.
The two bandits grabbed the bag from Mrs Khan and carted off with an undisclosed sum of cash, a GTT Top UP machine with $32,000 in credit, a Samsung S6 and a Plum cell phone valued in excess of $70,000.
The young couple, who were left traumatized, was subsequently taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where they were treated and sent away.
The Police were summoned to the scene and found three live .38 rounds. Investigations are ongoing.
