Georgetown Grand Prix set for Sunday

Go-kart drivers will be back in competitive action this Sunday (May 6) when GT Motorsports stages the second Georgetown Grand Prix for 2018.

For the first time, the event will be held in daylight, with races getting underway at 14:00h or 2pm. Another twist to the event is the addition of a category to cater for the top 10 fastest lap times in the rental karts as of Friday (May 4).

The 10 drivers will automatically quality to compete among the professionals, in GT Motorsports Praga karts.

Drivers from Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago would face off in the various categories, with the Shifter Pro Cup being the feature event. Intense rivalry is also guaranteed in the highly competitive Sun Burst Kids Cup 60cc, which will once again feature the likes of Jeremy and Justin Tenpow, Nathan Rahaman, Ben Phang and Paige Mendonca.

Drivers are also gearing up for the heated battles in the 125cc Junior and Senior divisions, as well as the Easy Cup Rookie, Heavy and Light. General admission to the venue is free, while the VIP experience costs $6,000 per person.
