Survivor found in Suriname piracy attack

One of the 16 missing fishermen, who were attacked by pirates in Suriname, was found alive by authorities combing the area on Thursday.

The man, identified as “Shurwin”, was taken immediately to the hospital by an ambulance. No other details were being disclosed to the media but the search for the other missing men continues.

Shurwin is said to be of Guyanese nationality who has been working in Suriname for a number of years. There is now hope for other family members who are desperately seeking answers for their missing relatives.
