Charge dismissed against woman accused of killing brother
Twenty-four-year-old Debra Hansraj was on Friday freed of a murder charge, which alleged that in April 2017, she killed her 21-year old brother, Vishaul Hansraj at their Covent Garden squatting area, East Bank Demerara home.
Magistrate Fabayo Azore dismissed the charge against the young lady at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on the grounds that there was insufficient evidence at the Preliminary Inquiry.
News Room had reported that on April 18, 2017, Vishaul Hansraj died at the Georgetown Public Hospital, after he sustained stab wounds to his body.
The victim’s mother, Simentra Bridgepooan had explained to News Room that her children were imbibing on the evening of Easter Monday and got into an altercation, which led to the stabbing.
