Several injured in Camp St. accident

Several persons were seriously injured on Friday night after a minibus turned turtle at Camp and Middle Streets, Georgetown.

According to information received, the minibus, bearing registration number – BSS 5239 – was proceeding north along Camp Street when a silver motorcar, heading out of Middle Street collided with the minibus after failing to stop at the intersection.

An eyewitness related to the News Room that the impact caused the bus to topple more than once before coming to a stop.

Passengers were picked up and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, some with serious injuries.

News Room was reliably informed that the female driver of the motorcar was picked up by another vehicle and left the scene less than five minutes after the accident, which occurred at around 23:15hrs.

An investigation is ongoing.
