Garfield McPherson, a 47-year-old Security Guard of Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara was this morning killed after the car in which he was travelling crashed into a trench.
According to the Guyana Police Force, at about 06:20hrs on Sunday, the motor car PRR 6380, driven by a 28-year- old, of Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara, was proceeding north on the Land of Canaan Public Road, East Bank Demerara when he allegedly swerved to avoid colliding with another vehicle, which was travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver subsequently lost control and drove into a trench, police said.
The driver and the two occupants, one of whom was Mc Pherson, were taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The others are receiving medical attention.
