Man caught with 60lbs ‘ganja’ remanded

A 60-year-old Labourer was on Tuesday remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate, Ann McLennan for allegedly trafficking almost 60 pounds of compressed cannabis.

Edgar Bollers denied that on May 7, 2018, at Haslington, East Coast Demerara he had 27.170 grams of cannabis in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.

According to reports, on the day in question, ranks of the Guyana Police Force Narcotics Branch acted on information and conducted a search of Bollers’ house when they found the illegal drugs hidden in a freezer.

The man reportedly admitted to the police that the drugs is his.

The Magistrate remanded Bollers to prison and transferred the matter to the Cove and John Magistrate’s court for May 29, 2018.
