A group of young men and women will head off to Orlando, Florida, in early July to represent Guyana at the World Jump Road Championship and Camp.

The event is billed for July 1-10, and already “the best 12 jumpers” have been assembled to commence preparation for the event.

According to the organisers, the jumpers selected have a number of years of experience in the novelty event, having participated in the annual Linden Town Week Skip to My Lou competition, as well as the national event at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

The are: Adriell Wilson, Shannae Worrell, Rodwell Halley, Tyrese Thornhill, Prince Beckles, Akiela Johnson, Serena Drakes, Ashanti Antigua, Amnesha Charles, Safron Grenville, Janee Greene and Deshanti Grenville.

The travelling officials are Lindley Langhorne, Odella Hilken and Shavin Greene.

Guyana’s plan to attend the event for the second time is dependent on whether the officials and the Skip to My Lou organisation can raise the hefty budget.

According to coach Shavin Greene, they have already covered half the cost for the trip, and they are now seeking the assistance of members of the public or business to come onboard.

Persons desirous of assisting the team can contact Greene on 682 8835.
