Couple charged for cannabis in pipe

A man and his wife were on Thursday charged for the possession of narcotics found in a pipe at their Grove, East Bank Demerara home.

The police said acting on information received, a mobile patrol in the community went to the home of 38-year-old Sherwin Alexander, a grocer of 382 Golden Grove E.B.D and conducted a search in the presence of his 44-year-old wife, Patricia Renee.

A parcel containing 134 grams of cannabis concealed inside of a PVC pipe was unearthed, according to the police force.

The couple has been jointly charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking and will make their court appearance tomorrow at the Providence Magistrate’s Court.
