Another person who was involved in the Linden/Soesdyke highway accident on Sunday last succumbed to his injuries this afternoon at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

Quinton Odle, 42, of Blankenberg, West Coast Demerara (WCD) died around 13:00hrs, police say.

Four days ago, Arianna Hughes, 6, also died whilst receiving medical attention at the public health institution.

Odle and Hughes were among 24 persons who were involved in the two-vehicle collision on the Linden/Soesdyke Highway.

    Dead: Arianna Hughes

Odle was the owner of the motorcar PMM 548 which was being driven by 31-year-old Shennelle Hughes at the time of the accident.

Police had reported that the female driver of the motorcar was heading east along the highway when she lost control of the vehicle while attempting to dodge a pothole and collided into minibus BHH 8451 which was travelling west.

At least eight persons were in a critical condition, police said.

News Room is unsure how many persons are still battling for their lives.

Thirteen children, the youngest being two-years-old, were involved in the crash.
